Some time ago we highlighted the case of Gabby, a happy five year old girl who was suddenly beset with an aggressive brain tumor called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. WePay users helped raise money for her hospital care and expenses for the family.
We’d like to pretend that the cases we highlight end up as happily as the stories and fairy tales Gabby liked to read. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here, as Gabby eventually succumbed to the tumor last September.
It’s easy to say “I understand what you’re going through” or “I’m so sorry for your loss.” I look at my own young relatives and wonder what I would do if one of them were to suddenly become violently ill or slip away like that. But there’s literally no way for anyone who hasn’t been in Gabby’s family’s shoes to understand the pain they’ve been through these past months.
However, what we can do is help their cause once again. Since Gabby’s death, her family has set up the Get Well Gabby Foundation to combat the very disease that took Gabby’s life. They want to honor her memory and fighting spirit by helping others combat this deadly illness before it’s too late.
WePay family, let’s help them honor Gabby by digging deep and giving to the Get Well Gabby Foundation. There may be nothing more that can be done for Gabby’s small body now, but her memory and your money may be able to help others in the future.
Their current goal is to write a check for $100,000 to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. They have a long way to go still, so let’s help them out! Hit the button below and give what you can so Gabby’s death is not in vain.
