I recently started to blog about useful tools for college students. My first post on the subject was about CampusLive, a company that offers customized homepages for students.
As more and more Greek organizations use WePay to collect dues, I have become increasingly familiar with other tools that are also helpful to fraternities and sororities.
In this post, I want to talk a little about WebGreek, a simple, secure, chapter management site for fraternities and sororities, which quite frankly, is one of the best I’ve seen.
UPDATE: I just got a video from the WebGreek guys, which does a really good job showing off how easy it is to use the application. Super intuitive design!
For a pretty small monthly fee (usually less than $.35/member) chapters get 20Gb of private file and media storage, a shared calendar with text and email reminders, custom text and email blasting, and a slew of other great tools for organizing and managing the chapter. They even offer custom designed websites for chapters.
WebGreek has just opened their doors to the public following a private beta at UC Berkeley, where 16 chapters have been using their service for several months. They spent the last 6 months working on a completely new interface, and I can say first-hand that it’s not only easy to use, but it’s the smoothest and sleekest thing I’ve seen since the Syzygryd.
I had the privilege of meeting the founding team, and beyond having a great core product, their people are what really drive the business. Since starting 1 yr ago on St. Patrick’s Day (their public launch and anniversary are both on St. P’s day, and one founder is Patrick… how cool is that?) the company has not only remained close to each other, but they’ve held true to their founding intentions: to support the Greek system and the communities they are a part of. From fiscally and physically supporting events like KKG’s Jog for Jill, to requiring every team member to become certified Wish Grantors for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, to sand blasting poor behavior in hopes of improving the Greeks image to the greater populace, these guys have done it all.
The only thing WebGreek doesn’t currently offer their members is the ability to collect and pay dues, rent, and incidental payments online. Hmmm…great team and great product in need of a group payment system…
Looks like WePay could help them out. Sign-up for WePay today and give us a try.

Seems pretty handy and a great partner for WePay. I’ve been out of college for 4 years now and its cool to see how fast the technology is progressing…would have made my frat life easier..I was house manager
Webgreek looks quite good and I’ve seen a decent bit on them recently. As a current brother, I’m actually considering an account for my chapter. We’ll see if the master goes for it.
We have been using WebGreek’s competitor GIN. After seeing how smooth and intuitive the WebGreek system UI is, it is impossible fore me to use the clunky GIN system anymore.
Our chapter is looking to switch over just because we were losing a lot of guys to the complexity and functions that were hidden deep within the system. The WebGreek UI is all right there, if you want to do something you click on the app icon you want. Nothing is lost deep in window after window of maze like navigation.
Webgreek is an impressive piece of web software – comprehensive and still intuitive. But Why stop at fraternities and sororities? This has vast applications beyond Greeks and univerities.. Excited to see where they’re going with this.
I was apart of Webgreeks beta testing. I’m house manager and it changed how we did everything, like how ipods changed music. It definitely made my job easier and more effective. The one thing that would make it even better would be a pay system so I wouldn’t have to play tax collector and hunt for dues.
With the new UI and some sort of pay system, Webgreek will be the best group collaborative tool on the web. I just wish they offered it for student clubs, it would revolutionize my ski club!!
I’ve played around with WebGreek and really love the interface and functionality. I’m out of college now, but my sorority definitely could’ve used a service like this. Organizing was always such a hassle; to have had an integrated system with things like a shared calendar that sends text message reminders for events, that would have been awesome!
It’s too bad Webgreek didn’t come out sooner, like 4 years ago! I graduated 2 years ago and still remain very active with my chapter. I was pledge educator and tried using online tools like GIN and Wiggio…and both just made my life harder. I constantly had to train, and retrain pledges how to use these things…and even then, they never ended up sticking with it…so it was more trouble than it was worth…and I went back to prehistoric notices via email or snail mail. My friend at Cal let me play around with his Webgreek beta account and only one word to describe my reaction…JEALOUS! Why couldn’t I have had something like this to help manage all my pledges. The interface is so sleek and the apps are amazing. I’m currently in charge of alumni relations for my chapter and I’m definitely pitching this to the president at the next chapter meeting…if I can wait that long. Keep it up WebGreek
I was apart of WebGreeks beta testing and it revolutionized my life, not just greek related. I don’t think I would survive without it now…the “cloud computer” has saved my ass so many times with school and work. Now that I’m so used to it, taking it away would be like when I break or lose my iphone…I’m lost!
My one critique of WG is the lack of an online payment system for our house…so it looks like WePay and WebGreek are 2 peas in a pod…looking forward to seeing this develop…keep posting!
So happy to hear you have partnered up. I think WePay was the last vital link WebGreek needed to be a complete management resource for Greeks, as well as other organizations. This will make sorority payments a breeze, no more waiting for the check to show up in the mail!
